I am often asked: "where do you want to go next?" The answer is never easy: from a short list of dream destinations to a long list of "when opportunity presents". 2011 happened to be a year of the latter. In February, we celebrated a friend's birthday in Roatan, Honduras. There we went scuba diving almost every day, including one dive with reef sharks deep in the ocean. In November, I extended a business trip in India by joining a group of travel agents. It was a discovery tour of Gujarat, the western most state, known for embroidery and textiles. The two trips could not be more different: one dominated by the natural world, the other by ancient culture, history, and religion. Both were eye opening, and I came back with great appreciation of what I have and what I am surrounded with.
