We took a short week to spend in the Ile de France...set in the heart of the country with Paris at its hub, the rich countryside incorporates a historic royal region of monumental splendour central to "la gloire de la France". Having been there the first time some 35 years ago, it was a pleasurable reacquaintance for us with the chateaux of Fontainbleau, Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte, as well as Blandy les Tours! And driving along, the green of Spring was beginning to show off the medieval towns of Provins, Moret and Grez beside the River Loing...all in all, rather uplifting as we had had a long winter in this part of Europe and Spring was more than welcome...~!!
