Possibly the world's capital for muck diving, Lembeh Straits has attracted the attention of underwater photographers everywhere, especially the underwater macro photographers. Situated near Manado in Indonesia, it becomes stock full of critters during the months of August to October. During these months, the wind picks up and the water temperature drops a couple of degrees (to about 26 Celsius), and the black sand sea bed becomes alive with fish and critters, some of which are seldom seen elsewhere.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to get the last room available at Lembeh Resort. Lembeh Resort is arguable the best resort on the straits. The facilities and the dive guides are very geared towards underwater photographers. I would recommended the resort wholeheartedly!
