DIY - one of the things that keeps me from photography. But when I'm finished I have a good excuse to combine two of my hobbies.
1. Bathroom. I started by gutting the room back to bare walls, the only thing put back in was a towel rail and the electric shower which I fitted a couple of years back. New bathroom suite, cupboards, heated mirrors, shaver socket, dimmable down-lighters, flooring and even a new door. The toilet, sink and radiator have been relocated.
I'm very pleased with the heated mirror though I could have fitted a few more heater pads to clear a slightly larger area. The tile design over the bath was a joint effort with Denise, she said what she wanted - I told her what she could have and the result was the compromise. We're also pleased with the back lit glass blocks below the bath side panel, which acts as a night light.
Later I shall most likely put doors over the narrow shelving between the cupboards and the mirror and put an extra light over the mirror.
2. Kitchen - nearing completion but on hold, we can't decide on tiles.
3. Waterfall. I can't claim to have built it, it's prefabricated. I just cleared the site and installed it [with minor modification] and rigged up the power supply for the pump. All we have to do now is wait for the bamboo etc to grow and blend it all in a little more. [and of course the fish pond that's planned next!]
Thank you Audra. We’re very pleased with both projects and although we’ve only had a couple of BBQ’s this year [working too many weekends], the sound of the waterfall is very cooling.
