I was fearing that the MDs would try some exotic high dose chemo on me, as the strongest, normally used protocolls had not worked.
But the MDs told me they wanted to try a new substance - Gemzar. This is normally used to treat lung cancer or colon cancer.
The best thing is that this protocol can be given in the day-clinic.
That was not so bad news indeed...or so it seemed. What they didn't tell me explicitly and what I didn't understand right away was that they were no longer aiming for a curative therapy - they just aimed to keep the cancer stable.
