This male Connecticut Warbler was caught around 1615 in mist-nests located in the sumac stand on top of Falkner Island, New Haven County. Dr. Jeffrey Spendelow identified and banded this individual with band number: BBL band 910-45123. Measurements included a wingchord of 68 mm (so pretty much out of range for a MOWA) and a weight of 14.8 gm. Dr. Spendelow determined the identification as COWA by examining the relative length of the 6th and 9th primaries, the length of the undertail coverts relative to the length of the tail itself, and a "wing minus tail" measurement.
