This non-breeding Common Redshank (foraging to the left of the Egyptian Geese) was located late morning on 5/27/ 2012 at the Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West province of South Africa. The bright red legs were striking and a reddish base to the bill was noticeable, too. This sighting was quite unexpected.
