13. Generosity

Southeast Louisiana

"Want some snow, Nanny?" My nephew noticed that I didn't have any snow, because I was too busy taking pictures, so he offered me some of his. He had been telling us for days that it was going to snow for Christmas. We kept explaining that where we live, it doesn't usually snow. Guess we should have listened to him. While the snow was a beautiful treat, it caused havoc with our Christmas. So, Christmas tomorrow!

Magic Lasso and Gaussian Blur - thanks, Mom! I'm learning!

Here is another, I love the expression! It captures all of the feelings of the moment - amazement and joy at the appearance of the snow!

Beautiful portrait. Bet he'd love a bit more of the white stuff -- that's hardly enough to play in! I like the treatment you used on this.

I really like the blurred background this sets this child into the foreground even more. Very nice portray.

Fabulous work! I don't know how much is DOF and how much is blur, but the effect is outstanding. Great job.
Guest 27-Dec-2004 17:49
Well done...
Guest 27-Dec-2004 15:26
Oh just one coment more. Being respectfull and constructive. Someday someone told me that I could try the "blur tool" using it on the borders (in this case of the kid) for making the borders softer I`ve tried in some cases ad seems to work :-)

Beautiful job of blurring the background. And I hope your Christmas on day 2 was maybe even a little better than it would have been on day 1.

Hope it was a wonderful Christmas, the day and the postponed event.

Wonderful portrait. I love the expression on his face and it looks cold there. Brrr. And I'm glad you got a white Christmas although it caused some problems for you. I've noticed that in parts of the country where there isn't much snow it does seem to effect the ability to travel since there are no road crews to deal with it.

Wow, finally someone who knows how to do a blur without leaving halo. I still am not a big fan of the blur in post processing, but I have to admit this is a beautiful portrait. Sorry to hear about your snowed in christmas. I would have LOVED a white christmas here but instead we got a cold one. Oh well. Nice work here. Enjoy your day tomorrow.

A child's faith is so beautiful, I guess the New Orleans Saints are going to win the Super Bowl this year, well I can hope. Merry Christmas
