This WPM 2003 photo album is dedicated to the memory of Pete Solyom, creator and sponsor of the annual Western Prototype Modelers Meets. Pete passed shortly after the 2003 meet. Pete's famous WPM meets are the reason why this album and others before it have existed to inspire and educate the kitbashing masses. Pete is survived by his wife and family. We will let you know as soon as I hear anything regarding funeral arrangements.

WPM, was held again this year on 10.12.03 in La Habra, CA. This year's WPM also included a modular HO layout from the SoCal FreeMo modular group.

Additional information on these models is only available from that particular owner/ modeler. If you do have a question, please feel free to leave it in the comments section.

The weathering on the 3rd image (ATSF GP60M) is amazing. This is one of the best weathering jobs i've seen. The colors are blended in just right and the detail on the front is great. Whoever did this in your group should make a buisness out of it. Thank you for displaying these great pics.

I have just now found your site and signed on. VERY nice model shots from the Calif. show. Im just curious....Since I am a contemporary western modeler..why were there no BNSF models on display??...Thanks, Robert Seale

For the cooling coils on the BL20-2, those were handmade custom bent pipes (with tees and whatnot turned on a lathe) by the owner of the model himself. Amazing stuff..
