Last year, I was lucky enough to spend a month on Vieques, a small island off the northeast coast of Puerto Rico. You may have heard of it in the news from the protests there a few years ago regarding the Navy conducting test bombings there. Beause of the Navy's presence for so long (they finally left in 2003), it is still a largely undiscovered Caribbean gem, as I hope my photos evoke.
