The castle of Loches can be divided in two, first there is the old donjon, of Norman origen. Second there are more 'recent' royal quarters ('Logis royal' 14th century) at the other end of the citadel. Joan of Arc, Agnès Sorel and Anne de Bretagne were among the famous ladies who held court here.
