Piper's Lagoon is located in Nanaimo, BC, and is about the size of two football fields, with a narrow, straight dyke cutting it off from the ocean surf. There is a hilly section that provides some short rock-climbing for those who desire it, and one larger hill covered in arbutus and Garry Oak.
