I am shooting with available light, as a flash would frighten the animals. Each day there is one staff veterinarian on duty, as well as 3 students doing their wildlife rotation. They are responsible for feeding, cleaning, diagnosing, and treating the cases which come thru the door. Occasionally there are surgeries to photograph, but the majority of these images are treatments of one kind or another.

The little owl that you'll see on people's shoulders throught out the series is Percy. He lives in the clinic and keeps everyone company.

From each days shooting, I hope to get a few really strong images, which will be included in a future exhibit. The gallery from 2003 shows some of the highlights from the project that I shot that year.
