You can see that this stool has some sort of non-conductive "boots" which cap the foot of the stool. Not sure if they are glass or ceramic or some similar type of substance or what. Regardless, the point is that on these high points you are somewhat susceptible to lightning. So you sit only this stool and it provides some protection from the lightning. Of course, I'm sure it would still be quite frightening to be up in a lookout in a lightning storm even considering the grounding measures that are taken for the building as well. As a picture this is OK. A little mixed lighting and the checkerboard bed mattress in the lower right is a little bit distracting. But then again, I guess it is easy to be distracted visually when the centerpiece is a wooden stool.
