Charleston, South Carolina

This is a photograph of a bridge in Charleston, South Carolina (Rt. 17, I think), taken from atop a new bridge under construction a little ways north of the subject. If anyone knows the name of this bridge, let me know.

I ended up making a nice 4-foot by 1-foot print of this and framing it on my wall. Looks fabulous. Further editing was done on the image than was is posted here, such as correcting the lens vignetting in the sky, cropping, and noise reduction.

These are actually twin bridges crossing the Cooper River in Charleston. The names of these bridges are the Grace Memorial and the Silas Pearman. They are known commonly among locals as the Cooper River Bridges. The Grace Bridge was completed in 1929 and the Pearman in 1966. Both bridges will be dismantled upon completion of the new cable stay bridge set for completion in May 2005.
