FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO: Shigetaka Komori) is pleased to announce the launch of the FinePix Z950 EXR — featuring a 3.5-inch wide screen with convenient touchscreen operation, a stylish design, 5x optical zoom 28mm*1 wide-angle lens, the newly-developed Intelligent Digital Zoom that delivers quality images even at 10x zoom, and the new EXR AUTO system that automatically determines the optimum mode out of 99 different shooting patterns.
The FinePix Z950EXR is equipped with the EXR CMOS Sensor based on Fujifilm's proprietary EXR technology, which examines each scene and switches between three modes (High Sensitivity and Low Noise / Dynamic Range / High Resolution) to achieve the optimum picture quality in bright scenes, dark scenes or even in high contrast conditions.
The 5x optical zoom 28mm wide-angle lens, a popular feature of the previous model (Z900EXR), is complimented with the newly-developed Intelligent Digital Zoom function to deliver a high-resolution finish with clear outline details even for distant objects at 10x zoom. All these features are packed into a stylish body that measures just 15.2mm at its thinnest point.
The new EXR AUTO function, which automatically determines the optimum shooting mode for each scene, has been further advanced. In addition to the inclusion of the Advanced Anti Blur function that features in the F series*2 the Z950EXR not only handles scene recognition (night views, beach, blue sky, etc.), detects persons and identifies backlight conditions, but also offers the new Motion Detection feature. The EXR CMOS Sensor then automatically selects the optimum mode out of a total of 99 different shooting patterns to capture any scene with the highest possible image quality.
The popular 3.5-inch wide screen with touchscreen operation introduced in the Z900EXR has been retained to ensure advanced operability.
The Z950EXR features 5x bending optical zoom 28mm wide angle Fujinon lens, and combines it with the newly developed Intelligent Digital Zoom function to achieve 10x zoom. The use of a thin lens has enabled a slim line design measuring just 15.2mm at its thinnest point. The compact camera fits snuggly into a pocket for easy portability, yet is capable of handling a wide range of scenes from broad landscapes to distant subjects.
Z950EXR features the EXR CMOS sensor, which uses Fujifilm's proprietary EXR technology that examines each scene and switches between three modes (High Sensitivity and Low Noise / Dynamic Range / High Resolution) to achieve the optimum picture quality in bright scenes, dark scenes or even in high contrast conditions.
The Z950EXR not only handles scene recognition (sunsets, blue sky, greenery, beach, snow scenes, etc.), detects persons and identifies backlight conditions, but also offers the new Motion Detection feature. The EXR CMOS sensor then automatically selects the optimum shooting mode out of a total of 99 different settings, an increase from 49 in the Z900EXR, to capture any scene with the highest possible image quality.
The Z950EXR also features the new Advanced Anti Blur mode, which corrects blurring by sequentially shooting 4 images at high sensitivity and overlapping them with advanced image processing technology. It produces images with minimal blur and noise in hand-held shots, and even for poorly-lit night landscape or blur-prone high zoom shots.
The Z950EXR supports multi-touch operation with two fingers. For replayed images alone, users can use pinch and reverse pinch actions to shrink or enlarge an image on the display.
The Z950EXR also features the Touch EXR AUTO function, which enables users to merely tap on the display, and the camera will automatically focus on the position and select the optimum shooting mode before releasing the shutter. Taking great photographs is as easy as pointing the camera at the subject, and tapping on the camera display.
Holding the camera vertically during image viewing activates the “Multi Frame Playback” mode, splitting the display into top and bottom frames and showing different images that can be operated independently. Users can also preview an image in the top frame and display thumbnails in the bottom frame to quickly and easily search for an image from large amounts of image data.
The high resolution wide screen with touchscreen operation contains approximately 460,000 dots and a wide viewing angle of 160 degrees in the up/down and left/right directions.
