Hyperfocal Distances

After being unable to find any decent Hyperfocal Distance Tables, and receiving huge numbers of requests, I created the following spreadsheet (see screenshot)

After receiving literally hundreds of requests, I created a spreadsheet (see below screenshot) to produce accurate Hyperfocal Distance Tables in PDF format for the following Canon and Nikon digital SLR cameras:

Hyperfocal1.pdf
- EOS 1Ds MarkII
- EOS 1Ds
- EOS 5D

Hyperfocal2.pdf
- EOS 1D MarkII N
- EOS 1D MarkII
- EOS 1D

Hyperfocal3.pdf
- EOS 30D
- EOS 20D
- EOS 10D
- EOS 350D
- EOS 300D

Hyperfocal4.pdf
- D1H, D1X
- D2H, D2Hs, D2X
- D50
- D70, D70s
- D100, D200

UPDATE !!: Following considerable discussion with fellow photographers, it has been concluded that for production of larger prints (18” x 12” plus), a CoC of 0.015mm as the reference for 35mm format will produce sharper results.

Therefore, the below tables have been produced on this basis.

Hyperfocal1_v2.pdf
- EOS 1Ds MarkII
- EOS 1Ds
- EOS 5D

Hyperfocal2_v2.pdf
- EOS 1D MarkII N
- EOS 1D MarkII
- EOS 1D

Hyperfocal3_v2.pdf
- EOS 30D
- EOS 20D
- EOS 10D
- EOS 350D
- EOS 300D

Hyperfocal4_v2.pdf
- D1H, D1X
- D2H, D2Hs, D2X
- D50
- D70, D70s
- D100, D200

Also, to print these tables at your desired size, open the document in Adobe Acrobat, select ‘File’ > ‘Print…’, then click ‘Properties’, select the ‘Effects’ tab, and enter the appropriate value for “% of Normal Size”.

PLEASE NOTE: These tables have been downloaded and used by thousands of photographers, and as such, I would greatly appreciate any comments from those who have found them helpful, and would encourage you to "post a comment" below.

Enjoy…

Cheers, James
