It's an avenue of tombs, and is the most evocative of Samarkand. Its name means "grave of the Living King" and refers to the shrine that was the original tomb of Qusam ibn-Abbas, a Prophet Muhammad’s cousin. During the period of Amir Temur the members of his family were buried there.

E’ un viale di tombe ed è il luogo più suggestivo di Samarcanda. Il nome significa “tomba del re vivente” e si riferisce al santuario originale che era la tomba di Qusam ibn-Abbas, un cugino del profeta Maometto. Durante il periodo di Amir Temur vi furono seppelliti i membri della sua famiglia.
