Samarkand

Shah-i-Zinda
It's an avenue of tombs, and is the most evocative of Samarkand. Its name means "grave of the Living King" and refers to the shrine that was the original tomb of Qusam ibn-Abbas, a Prophet Muhammad’s cousin. During the period of Amir Temur the members of his family were buried there.
