When I first started taking photos on a regular basis, it wasn't to create art, but rather capture a place in time. From observing the past we know that it is hard to get an idea of what a street, house or neighborhood was like for much of its existence. With most of the houses I lived in it I have not found an image of the house at at anytime before my becoming familiar with it.
Of course today photography is commonplace, and even Google is taking photos of streetscapes that are uploaded. While these will help, they won't provide a comprehensive sense of place.
Some of my photos are little more than ten years old and looking at them I can see how things change. These are changes I am not conciously aware of until I see the photos. This is most easily observed in my own neighborhood.
As I move along, and occupy a larger part of my time looking at art, I hope to incorporate greater artistic quality into the photos.
I hope you enjoy.
