Jim- I worked with Rusty on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and have often thought of him. I had heard he was hurt pretty bad, but never learned of his passing. Just thought of him again tonight and decided to google him and found this. He was a heck of a good guy and an excellent ironworker...everyone loved Rusty.
My brother was one of iron workers who was injured when a cable broke and killed, I think, it was three people. He was injured so bad he never recovered
and lived a year or so, then died. His name was Gerald ( RUSTY) KING. I was there when the footing was poured. I also remember going to local joint called Miss Kittys to a turkey shoot, glad I did not win because the winner won a live pig. I could see me going back to AUGUSTA GA.with a live pig. I would like to get the history on the bridge, if any can be abtained, and love to get some pictures if possible.
Thanks Jim King

Glad to see there are others out there who are familiar with the New River and it's beauty.
Another excellent gallery of one of my favorite places. I like the way you shot the bridge from different perspectives.
