Among the pictures taken in this incredibly scenic area of Switzerland are some from the Alp Horn festival, held every June in Murren. To get to this scenic village, you need to take a cable car from the valley floor just south of Lauterbrunnen. During our visit, members of a group called Mannlichenbahn, a Bern-based organization of Alp horn players, organized to make a record number of horn players at one time, shown here in 2002. An alp horn is almost 11 feet long, made of pine wood and their sound can be heard across the Alpine valleys.
