Mount Erebus from a C-130

It was a different era in December, 2000, and the air crew of this New York Air National Guard C-130 allowed a news media photographer onto the flight deck to take pictures. Mt. Erebus, a 13,000 foot volcano, looms in the background as the plane approaches McMurdo Station on Ross Island, Antarctica.
