It's also known as the Swan Nebula and Omega Nebula, and is a bright and easily-seen emission nebula in Sagittarius. The star-forming region is estimated to be about 5,000 light years away. This is a combination of five exposures of about 200 seconds each, taken with a Nikon D80 and a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens and a 2X teleconverter. It was taken on August 25, 2008 at Harrington Beach State Park in Wisconsin.
