Yesterday was a glorious day after weeks of rain and everything soggy underfoot! But it is winter in July in Australia... hundreds of people were outside enjoying the great outdoors. Nobby's Beach @ Newcastle is one of our favourite places. People walk their dogs, swim, surf, fish, sail, enjoy a coffee and whatever else is on the menu... and generally sit and watch the world go by! I love to photograph all of the above and yesterday was no exception. There was also a pod of Pelicans on the rocks just past the Soldier's Pool. All of these images were taken in a 2 hour period within a few hundred metres between Nobby's Beach and Newcastle Ocean Baths. The diversity of this place and the variety of subjects is definitely a smorgasbord to a photographer, amateur or professional. The girl I photographed taking pictures had a pretty serious camera and even someone to carry her gear! That's what I need.. a bag carrier, and maybe the high shoes to give me a better advantage!!
