Meeka has come to live @ our house! She came from HAR (Hunter Animal Rescue) and was born on March 15. In Australia she's called a tortoiseshell puss... in America, a calico cat. Either way she is simply adorable! She has turned our home into an amazing mini-gym where the hall is now a racetrack... the kitchen floor a skating rink.. the pompom hanging from a door knob perfect for high jumps. The best drinking water is around the plughole in the bath. Testing her new Walking Jacket is nothing short of hilarious!! The HAR carer's daughter Ruby, named the cat Meeka... we liked the name so much we kept it. She's a bit young yet to understand her name but she will grow to like it as much as we have. Everyone should adopt a dog or cat. There are just so many wonderful people who care for them until they are taken to their new home. There is simply no need for euthenasia of animals if everyone would do the right thing and care for them in a proper and humane way. They give their love unconditionally, the best we can do is return that love in adundance.
ENTER BASIL!! We now have a companion for Meeka in the form of a spotted tabby puss called Basil. He is a month older than Meeka and he too is a rescue cat from HAR. They have proven to be THE BEST of friends and give us a great deal of love and keep us well entertained!
