Oh The Fall Colors Oh the fall colors if only they would stay a little longer than they do! Getting these colors close to a waterline and you just double your enjoyment of the season. After spending the afternoon in nature then it is off to home and an Irish coffee.

Flower Or Weed Flower or weed? As a youth I spent some parts of my summer walking pastures and cutting these guys out. Most farmers would probably agree they are weeds. However, when they are in bloom and somewhat confined they are a pretty flower. I am guessing it is all point of view.

Hardy Winter Sport A hardy winter sport is usually hockey, skating or skiing but just standing on the ice waiting for a fish to take the bait seems seems pretty severe. A close look and they all seem to be enjoying the afternoon immensely! I can guess as to what is in those thermoses.
Dad Chauffeur Looks like everyone is having a good time, especially Dad. |
Fishing I am assuming this young man is fishing. It appears he is working on cutting something, I hope it isn't his boat! |
Moon Rise At Dusk The temperature is dropping, the sun is setting and the moon is rising. At dusk things are becoming hidden and other things are becoming visible. Time to go home and get warm.

Old Growth It is springtime and everything is coming up green, almost. As I was driving through the park all of a sudden there was a break in the near road growth where I spotted this big tree off in the distance. It was a cold, cloudy spring day and this old growth dead tree just stuck out making the day a little colder.

_DSC8565.jpg The middle of November is a weather changing time. On the left, near the shore, the ice has formed. Just on the edge of the ice a leaf has been frozen in as it is one of the last leaves to come off the summer trees. On the right is the water, lapping at the edge of the ice allowing for the ice to build up one small wave at a time. As you set there getting a little colder as the wind blows you become fixated on the motion of the water spilling over the ice. Then you get cold, wake up and think I got to get warm!

DSC05284.jpg Evening flight of a Great Egret is always something to see. Just a little color protruding from a white form really stands out.
DSC05282.jpg My first siting of a Great Egret for the year. I had hardly gotten through evergreens and he took to the sky after only two shots of him standing. The other on was long gone. How they can spend the day by a busy street and take flight the minute I show up is beyond me.
_DSC8548 copy.jpg Deer and snow always seem to go together. |
DSC06898.jpg It is always hard to get a shot of these hawks and they trend to flay away when anyone stops. Got lucky today!
DSC06905.jpg Spotted this Red-tailed Hawk and followed him around as he was looking for a good location to hunt from and maybe away from me.
DSC06464.jpg A very gray day out but I did find this Red-tailed Hawk setting in a tree. I assume it was looking for a meal.

DSC05686.jpg Spring is coming, the Canada's are pairing up for the new season.
DSC05626.jpg The sun was going down on a very windy day and the waves were lapping over a fallen log at the water's edge.
DSC05630.jpg Forty MPH winds kept the lake pretty much deserted this day. It was cold out but it was nice to hear the water lapping at the shore.
DSC05207.jpg Watching the sun go down and caught this scene of Canada Geese flying.

DSC05191.jpg Winter, an almost frozen lake, a setting sun and you have a photograph.
DSC03869.jpg With the warm weather a lot of the ice has melted and people are taking advantage of the warm days.
DSC03644.jpg Damn the water is cold, I think is what is being said.
DSC03564.jpg As the winter approaches open water gets harder to find. It was also very loud there.
DSC03562.jpg As winter approaches open water is harder to find for the water fowl.
DSC02778_2.jpg A reprocess of the previous image.
DSC02778.jpg Out and about in the fog looking for something to photograph in the haze and I discovered this man fishing on the other side of the lake. Played with the processing and ended up with this.

DSC03942.jpg They were just floating in the water, not going anywhere in particular. |
