Top of City Hall

There was a law known as the "Gentleman's Agreement" that prohibited construction of anything within Philadelphia taller then the statue of Ben Franklin on City Hall. For economic reasons, that agreement was cast aside in 1987 with completion of the Liberty Place building on Chestnut Street. Franklin atop City Hall remains an iconic symbol of Philadelphia as buildings rise above it.

Cool shot. Not a lot of people know that the statue was made by the grandfather of Alexander Calder. "V"

Beautiful capture of this famous city hall. I've seen it in person, but don't think it looked as good then as this does! V.
