June 29, 2005 I purchased this meter to replace my aging Gossen Luna-Pro F. On July 29, 2005 I placed this meter on the trunk lid of my car after I had used it. I took the picture and drove off. When I reached my next destination, I realized that I no longer had the meter. I drove back to the my last location and saw the meter on the side of the road. It must have slid off my car and landed in the road. It looks like it had been run over because it has a lot of scrapes and scuff marks and the battery and battery door was found a few feet away with its latch broken off. The battery is no longer round, it is flattened on one side. I placed the battery back in the meter and turned it on. I could not believe that it worked. Although the reading was about six stops off, I just changed the exposure compensation to -5.1 EV after I calibrated it to my old Gossen Luna-Pro F. It now works almost as good as new and has that really good used look. The rubber band is now the battery door latch.

May 31. 2007 I sent the meter to Sekonic for an estimate to repair the battery door and they want to do a complete repair on this meter for $239.00. That is only $20 less than a brand new one. I told them to send it back.

I agree with Greg. Its seen better days I'm sure I have the same meter and could not imagine how I would feel if that happened to mine. Great pic and story.

You should send this story to Sekonic. They just might use it in some form of advertising and maybe send you a new one?????
