5/15/2012 My old Alcatel 1000 ADSL Network Terminator

This is the DSL modem I have been using for the last 12 years.
My DSL with a static IP was installed June 11, 1999.
This is Model 3EC 18202 AB for Bridged Service (RFC 1483) power supply 120V/9V, RJ11/RJ14 Line pins 2/5.
Ethernet Parameters: Virtual Path 8, Virtual Channel 35, 43, 51, 59, Encapsulation LLC/SNAP, Frame Check Sequence preservation OFF, Tinygram compression OFF, Bridge database ageing time 5 minutes.
I found the above information in the papers that came with this modem.

I picked up a Siemens Speedstream 4100 ADSL modem at a garage sale last weekend.
I had to rewire the phone jack because the Alcatel accepts signal on Line 2 of RJ11 jack pins 5(Yellow) and 2(Black). Newer modems accepts signal on Line 1 of RJ11 jack pins 3(Red) and 4(Green).
The modems IP is 192.168.0.1
Firmware version a1.01.00.00
Software version 1.0.0.53
I configured the SpeedStream modem to Bridged Mode (PPPoE is not used) in order to use a router with it.
I also set the connection configuration to VPI 8 VCI 35 ATM Encapsulation LLC.
