Golf Images

The late John Lindsay was an exceptional Victorian amateur golfer. He was three times Victorian Amateur Champion, five times Victoria Golf Club Champion, and three times Royal Melbourne Golf Club champion. He played in the Victorian State team from 1970 to 1985 and in the Australian Team in 1971. His handicap for thirty-five years ranged between plus one and two, and he was proud to be playing off scratch at the age of 60. He was Captain of the Victoria Golf Club for three years, and was into his second year of Presidency there when he passed away. He was also a member of Royal Melbourne Golf Club and the R and A of St Andrews. He is a Life Member of the Golf Society of Australia.

A wonderful and deserved tribute to John. The John Lindsay Trophy is a fitting memorial to a fine man and a champion golfer.
