This is the only image in this gallery which I did not take myself, and also the only one in color. But this image has a very special meaning to me :
Dizzy Gillespie writing an autograph on my ticket to the North Sea Jazz Festival back in 1978. I did not know anything about jazz at that time, had not heard of Bebop and Charlie Parker, and I did not know who Dizzy Gillespie was. But I enjoyed his concert very much, and so I asked him for an autograph afterwards (blame it on my youth - if I had known who he was I probably never would have dared to ask). He was a very nice guy.
