Lake Keowee was created by the Duke Power Company to support their power generation facilities in South Carolina. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains the lake is 18,000 acres and has over 300 miles of shoreline with depths exceeding 150 feet. It is over 23 miles long.
