Ski Jumper - 14 years old - defying gravity! Note the graveyard beyond the ski jump landing area!

Whilst in Austria this year,we visited the Innsbruck Ski Jump arena.
We mistakenly took the wrong lift up to the top of the jump and ended up on the actual jumpers preparation area and the actual jump off area!

We kept in the background and quietly watched.

Here was a 14 year old Austrian boy who quietly prepared himself,psyched himself up and pushed off!

An amazing sight and such bravery (madness?)!

And that is a graveyard at the bottom of the jump,perhaps 500 metres beyond the arena!
So - not an ordinary game of football for this guy!

Very nice sequence that tells a story. I felt as though I were there, shaking in my boots from my fear of heights. Great job of documentation.

My grandfather used to do this...I always wondered what it must seem like, since I never tried it. I think this is close enough for me...a great series of shots and a great sense of the courage this has to take to do. I don't think most people would hurtle themselves down a mountain so they could fly throught the air. Wonderful shots.
