Swallowfield All Saints Church in Berkshire England.
Built in 1256.
I live just 8 miles from here - my relatives from my grandmother's side - named Fulker - lived in the Swallowfield/Shinfield/Reading area during the 1500's - 1900's.
In this churchyard are buried many Fulker's from over two hundred years ago.
I cannot find any Fulker headstones - many of the really old graves lie overgrown or the headstones are smooth from age with no inscription visible.
I will continue to investigate and post photos as we discover more.
Note; I have used Nik Pro filters on some of these photos - highly recommended software.
My great great grandparents William and MaryThorp were buried in Swallowfield in 1884 and 1885. I live in North Carolina USA and wondered if you had seen any Thorps in the investigation. Thank you

I'm looking into Family History (Virginia, USA) came across reference to Swallowfield . The son of Capt Roger Smith and Jane Pierce Rolfe Smith was born & baptised there in around 1625. These people were survivors of the Jamestown Settlement and Va Company. Is there any way to prove his birth? Thanks

Mr. Robson:
I am writing you from the state of Oklahoma in the United States. I am doing research on my father's military service. He was a member of the 101st Airborne, stationed at Froxfield and Littlecote, which, if I read my Google maps right is about 10-20 American miles from Swallowfield.
I have reason to believe my father, Lt. Clifford Carrier, stayed at Swallowfield in 1944 in a home on a large piece of property on the outskirts of town.
This may have been the home of Lady Clifton Doreen Douglas. I am wondering if you have ever heard her name mentoned in Swallowfield or if you could direct me to a church or business chamber website that may be able to help. Perhaps a local historian with an email.
I appreciate your help. You have some tremendous photographs.
