Isokarpalo / Cranberry

Vaccinium oxycoccos

Karpalo kasvaa runsaimmillaan ja varsinkin parhaiten marjovana märillä nevoilla.

The distribution covers much of the Northern hemisphere and extends to the tropics on mountains.
Economically, the cranberry is among the most important mire plants.
The tough-skinned and sour berries ripen late in the autumn.
They can be used for making juice, jam and liqueur, and in particular jelly as they are rich in pectin.
