Darling is a 150 year old village an hour away from Cape Town,
nestled in the hills of the West Coast, surrounded by vineyards, dairy pastures and wild flower reserves.
It lies within the Cape West Coast Biosphere reserve in the centre of the threatened lowland sandplain and renosterveld fynbos.
Several local farmers have over the years put aside land for flower reserves and these are opened to the public during peak flower season.
Darling is a great place to start the spring wildflower adventure as you head from Cape Town to West Coast National Park and beyond!
