In November of 1940, in the FDNY, a new magazine was born for it's members. The publication was called WNYF (With New York Firefighters) and the premier issue had just eight pages. Some 68 years later, WNYF is still going strong with a circulation that not only includes every member on the job both active or retired, but is available by subscription worldwide to any firefighter or buff! In the earlier issues, it was commonplace for the magazine to include in its pages, cartoons that were prepared and submitted by members on the job. This gallery is dedicated to all those cartoonists and humorists who brought their own perspective of life in the fire house and on the job to the readers of WNYF. When you look at the cartoons, you can appreciate that not much has changed in the fire house over the last 68 years! NOTE: This gallery is not for sale, and may not be reproduced.
