Hartford FD History - Station Houses and Personnel - circa 1898

The Hartford FD is steeped in history and tradition. In this gallery I deliver another dose of HFD history through the photos of some of the personnel and station houses in the late 1800's. These were the first engine companies of the Hartford Fire Department. Also, two of the ladder companies were housed in the same fire house on Pearl Street. Currently the HFD operates 11 engines, 5 truck companies, one of the busiest heavy rescues in the nation, and 2 District Chiefs.
