Quick test for a recently purchased used lens, Pentax Takumar-A Zoom.
Manual focus, manual f/stops plus A setting for Auto Exposure function, 28 ~ 80 mm zoom range, plus macro focus setting, wide open f/3.5 ~ 4.5.

I mounted it to my Pentax ist* D body and walked around the house outside.
Seemed just fine for close and medium distance work, with camera set to asa 800.
Also consider that these were all hand held exposures, on a windy day.
Might be sharper at lower asa settings, will test again sometime.

Fall is coming soon. The Virginia Creeper on our fence is usually the first sign, when it starts to show some vivid red.
