After several weeks of very high water, the Meramec River is finally receding, and Minnie Ha Ha Park in Sunset Hills, Missouri, has been reopened.
But if you compare these images with summer images of previous years, you will see a big difference in the volume of water now present.
The flood left behind a lot of dried silt, mostly cleaned off the trails, but deep in places.
First day of August, in the Dog Days of this summer... the park provided a nice little walk.

Camera was my Pentax K100 digital with broken autofocus (manual focus only) and 18 - 55 mm lens.
