Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, July, 2005
The Lake of the Ozarks is a large impoundment of the Osage River in central Missouri and a top destination for vacations and family entertainment. The countryside is very hilly, the Lake is twisting, and the irregular nature of the Lake gives it a shoreline in excess of 1,500 miles. Seriously.
We rented a private secluded Cabin for 3 nights. Daytime activities were in the more active places of the Lake area, evenings were at the Cabin.
Camera was a Pentax MV. Lenses included a Pentax f:1.7/50mm, and an f:2.8/28mm. I used two types of film: Konica/Minolta ASA 200 print film, and some Kodak Gold ASA 200 print film. There are 3 Subgalleries here to look at:
1) The Lake and the Cabin on the Lake
2) The "Strip"
3) Ha Ha Tonka State Park, with the ruins of the Castle built by K.C. millionaire Robert Snyder over 100 years ago. Snyder died a year after construction began.... ironically, he was the first fatal victim of an automobile accident in Missouri history. His sons continued the work and the Castle was completed in the 1920's. In 1942 a chimney spark ignited the roof and the entire interior of the castle was gutted in a tragic fire.
