in 2003 I bought a very run down old house
the garden was dark and surrounded by 50 foot high leylandii
first job - get rid of the fir trees!
Not much left once the trees had gone so its starrt from scratch
i planted a nice acacia baileyana purpurea. With its grey/purple foliage and bright flowers its my favourite acacia
Summer 2004. paulownias in the front garden
winter 2005. A silver burch blows down. Strong winds here at times
winter 2005. My king protea turns a worrying shade of red
my clivia in the conservatory brightens up late winter
grevillia rosmarifolia flowers late spring
an unusual double rhodadendron flowering in 2005. THis is one of the few plants I inherited with the garden

peony - not very exotic but pretty :)
Nerium. summer 2006. They do suprisingly well here
garden winter2006. Its all gradually comming together. The wasteland has gone!
acacia melanoxylon. winter 2006. Its grown enormously in 3 years but no flowers yet.
acacia baileyana purpurea has done well but it does suffer from being blown over a lot
winter 2006. My big experiment - eucalyptus ficifolia. Has anyone else tried this magnificent tree? So far its survived the cold
melianthus seems to be OK with the frosts

banksia spinulosa has one growing too
