To Nancy: A black snake with two yellow stripes down its back is a garter snake. Harmless and good for gardens. Garter snakes eat field mice and scare other rodents away. I see them all the time in both addison mich. (Downstate) and in Harrison mich.(Midstate)

Yes there poisoness snakes in Michigan...the only kind is a rattle snake so what you saw was not poisoness I just saw the same kind of snake...I believe it is a rat snake...

to nancy there are snakes here in michigan so i don't know who told you that but they are full of it.

p.s. i am not sure if any of these snakes are poisen or not.

Okay I was outside just now and asnake came right next to me it was not as big as the ones you seen but it sure was asnake so I ran because I dont know if it was poison is there any in mich ? I heard there wasent so I will not kill it for now it was off black with yellow strips going down it's back let me know okay
