Cade's Cove, Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The grist mill - built around 1868 - still grinds corn meal for the tourist trade.
The 12-24 wide angle lens was made for shots like this.
I went to Cade's Cove 6 mornings before sunrise plus 3 other trips hoping for some of the Cove's fabled mist & fog for some atmosphere - nothing. On the day that I made this image it did manage to rain a little. Also, not much color. A bad wind storm the previous week (100 mph gusts for eight hours) felled numerous trees in the park and didn't do the leaves any good either.
