Love the way the IR effect (white foliage) makes the hemlock carcasses on the mountain sides "pop". These beautiful hemlocks in Shenandoah National Park are *all* dead, gone, here no-more thanks to an infestation coupled with an enlightened national park service policy to "let nature take its course" (in Shenandoah only; thankfully the Great Smokies park service folks had their heads out of their butts and are working to save their hemlocks). Thanks, NPS.
Great post-storm clouds yesterday - which are a key ingredient for nice IR landscape images. Taken at Hemlock Springs overlook on Skyline Drive (roughly 3400 feet elevation; looking toward the Virginia Piedmont).
By the way, this was processed using Nik Software's newly released Silver Efex Pro. If you enjoy B&W then run, don't walk, to your computer and download the trial version. As a tester, this is the product that I've been using in my B&W experiments that past few months. Absolutely wonderful!
