North Texas in December

Some of the photographs show the reflection from the door of the helicopter. We could have flown with the doors off but the wind chill would have made our flight unpleasant. I did, though, manage some nice pictures. Enjoy.
An empty canal that remains full only during the summer period. Pre-flight check list strapped to the pilot's leg. View from the cockpit. The trees have dropped their splendorous colours for the winter to don a grayish tone.

Rows of cotton. Cotton Texas has few natural lakes. t6%2f94%2f689794%2f4%2f71370696.vDSBH6Lo.jpg
Man-made pond. A slough, at right of pump, contains the intended messiness of drilling a well. Steel grasshopper junk yard. Giant sprinkler system.
Farming equipment junk yard. We spot the neighbour's camels as we approach the fish hatcheries. A problem with anthills in the wheat field. Cows feeding near a canal.
Our photographs record the progress of the construction of the fish hatcheries at Lake Diversion. New ponds to raise more fish. Texas fishing enthusiasts pay for the project. (Thanks, Steve.) Historical Marker The photo shows the shadow of the helicopter on the bottom right part of the image.
