Situated in Barcelona’s arty and anarchistic El Raval district, the MUSEU D’ART CONTEMPORANI is just superb. Approach it through graffiti-rich streets lined alternately with tenements and cafes. Call in at the neighbouring, sister Cultural Centre too. The external space is extensive and impressive. The internal space is a starkly beautiful; an ideal setting for some challenging and political exhibits. My first visit coincided with a wonderful exhibition by American photographer Robert Frank – a master craftsman.
