Apart from its size, the male Ural Owl (Strix uralensis) is almost indistinguishable from the female, except for generally a slightly darker plumage,
although that is not a definite character, as variations and exceptions are also quite common. But the female is a tad bigger, with a wingspan up to 130cm,
whilst the male has some 110-120cm. Average weight males approx. 700gr, females a 1000gr. Max weight ca. 1300gr.
