On our return from Germany and UK we decided to fly into Charleston South Carolina and drive back to Alamogordo. The plan was to stay 3 days in Charleston 2 in Savannah and 3 in New Orleans. We would also stop in Bon Secour Alabama to visit the Nelson Family who were Silke’s host Family when she was an exchange student for a year in 1987.
When we got off the plane in Charleston we were speechless over how hot humid it was, the humidity was 95% that and the fact that Silke’s case was still in Chicago put a bit of a damper on the first days of the trip. We were thankful for the air conditioning in the hire car and hotels. Both Charleston and Savannah were well worth visiting but we will have to back to see New Orleans when it is not so hot, we decided to head for home to escape the heat and humidity after visiting Silke’s host Family.
The fotos are nothing special but I hope they give you feel of what we experienced on our trip..:>
