I have followed you work for a number of years and of course you always seem to find very interesting models who just pose with ease. But I am more fascinated with the way you use light - just wonderful - the highlights and shadows make you want to stare at a particular image for quite a while. Have been shooting for over 40 years and sometimes still look at an image and say - what was I thinking?

Hello David, I was up in Joshua Tree the other day and went by the huge mansion up in the hills and I thought of you. I looked you up on Google and I wanted to drop you a line to say hello to an old friend. Your work is incredible and I enjoyed seeing that I still had a picture in your gallery right along with Nadia the Ninja. I hope all is well and I will continue to follow your art. Your truly amazing.
Your friend always,
Kari

Hi David! Thanks for the links to this site and to your galleries. I am impressed by the variety of your work and can only repeat what earlier commentors have said. In particular of course, I like the desert/death valley shots depicting those beautiful ladies you are so fortunate to get to work with. Of all the shots looked at today I think the one of Megan with the crystal ball stirred me the most. Thank you for allowing me to view your pictures. xxVicky

I have scanned your galleries countless times and I must say that I am truly impressed. You take truly amazing pictures no matter what subject you choose to photograph, whether it be models, landscape, or any other obscure thing. You have a gift and an amazing eye that catches beautiful pictures. I just thought that I should let you know that I really enjoy looking through your images regularly to see what new things you have added to an already excellent gallery.
I wish you well,
Katya

Perchance some day my nudes will no longer bore you? They will be more like whats-his-name Who knows.....who cares?
purpod24-Dec-2006 17:52
Perhaps if your nudes were more like thishttp://www.pbase.com/image/71451333 with some variations & subtleties, it wouldn't be so boring for me. Besides, I had thought you were interested in my honest opinions.. OK, fine, I'll be quiet & continue to view others' artwork.
David Winge24-Dec-2006 14:12
purpod, While I appreciate your comments on many of my images I really think you should take your rolling eyes to other galleries, that are many photographers on Pbase that I am sure would be more to your liking.
purpod23-Dec-2006 18:03
Don't any of your models keep their clothes on?? Geez O' Man. Was loving Leslies shots & then had to roll my eyes at the ending images.. It must be the age & times of these kids.. I dunno, it just gets old.. to me, anyways.

Hey...thanks for your nice words on my sunset in Wisconsin photo; and if you like old time country music, the boys from Lubbock, The Flatlanders http://www.theflatlanders.com/) have the song lyrics I quoted from on their "Wheels of Fortune" album.

I would like to say that David Winge truly has an eye for the out of the ordinary that we take for granted everyday. I had the opportunity of having Mr. Winge stay in my home and photograph lots of exquisite things in my desert community. I believe he has a true talent for spotting out items, buildings, and even desert life as we know it. I am very fortunate to say that I am glad to have been a friend to David Winge, he has truly opened my eyes to how wonderful, colorful and full of life the desert can be. Thank you from the bottom of my heart David. You are a true artist.

Your Mission series is a nice collection of photos documenting religious architecture. I am trying to do the same thing for England and whereever I visited -- Tuscany, Thailand,... Hope you will add more. I certainly will come back.
